We hope to see students taking action and standing up for others when they see unjust situations
Students encouraging adults in their lives to be more politically active.
Students becoming more politically active. Example; writing a letter to an elected official about an issue.

Ending our week with a fun ice cream party to celebrate the commitment we made during the summer with our summer reading, The Magic Finger and our reading response journals. It was a beautiful day and we even got to see the Blue Angels practicing for the Air Show!!!
Thank you to all of the moms and dad who took time out of their day to help out and enjoy the day with us. Your commitment to our summer work made it possible and you deserve a "scoop" as well!

Later that day, I was able to attend the opening night reception of the exhibit, Changing Minds featuring photos by award winning photographer, Lisa Kessler. Our classroom and school was featured as one of the schools of the 11 included in this exhibit which documents the transformation brought about by Cleveland's Plan for Transforming Schools. The exhibit runs from September 2nd through October 28th at the Main Library. Visit gundfdn.org/change to see all of the photos featured.
