This year, we have enjoyed donating to The Providence House. For our spring community service project, we decided to make Bunny Baskets for the children at the Providence House. Thank you to Mrs. Greer, who donated the baskets and supplies. Thank you to all of the families who donated sweet treats. Thank you to my amazing class of cheerful givers. It was a wonderful sight to see, students working together to bring smiles to other children. This is what it means to be human.

Please watch the video below to learn more about the wonderful services provided by the Providence House for At-Risk children, families and our community. They are Changing the Story for children and families, and we are taking ACTION to make the world a better place.

Week 2; How We Organize Ourselves

After spending our first week exploring the function of economics in our local community, we began to investigate how it relates to our every day life and how we can use economics to improve our lives (responsibility). We also began to look at the lives of people who have made a plan to make money (entrepreneurs). We selected a famous entrepreneur to research for our biography report. Our big question is, How did this person's plan/life impact our world?

Having fun with Mr. Bubbett. Looks like he's sitting on Lucy's head.
The leprechaun visited our room overnight and left us lucky coins.

Having fun at Discovery! Smoothies and ramps. We had a maze of race car tracks around the room. We were trying to see who could create the longest ramp, with hoops, and turns. Goal to keep the car on the track and finish first. Our newspaper club decided to film it. What a fun Friday!

Pasta for Pennies; Taking Action!

Pasta for Pennies Presented by Olive Garden is a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique experience BY making a difference through teamwork—working together to aid thousands of children and adults in the fight against blood cancers like leukemia.

With every unit of inquiry taught, IB students are encouraged take action to make the world a better place. We also take action as a team, recognizing how much more we can accomplish when we work together. Thank you to all of the families who helped our class beat our goal, by raising $310.00. This fundraiser meant a lot to us, as we have personal stories of family members and friends affected by leukemia.
