Welcome to our grade two blog! I can't wait to meet all of you. I hope you enjoyed your summer as much as I did. I am excited to hear about the action you took, and your summer wonders. Please write your wonder on the note card that came home and bring it in on the first day of school. I wonder, where did the word "barbeque" come from and what is a sunburn?

I will be back to school on Monday, August 10th. If you would like to drop off your school supplies early or stop in to say, Hi, email me and let me know. The picture above shows how we organize our supplies for the year. Our class is set up with tables for collaboration and sharing. Notebooks and binders are the only materials that need your name written on.
Our first unit of inquiry for second grade will be, Who We Are. I wonder what our central idea will be? There are a lot of books about responsibility, respect, peace, sharing, cooperation, healthy habits, and rules on our IB board. You have a lot of time to ponder (think really hard) about what you think our central idea should be for this unit. I am excited to hear your ideas!
Just like Herbie Jones, we're going to Sail into Second Grade!!! We'll hear all about how Herbie did this during our first week of school.
