6th Grader, Nathaniel Craun

Nathaniel Craun participated in the Selling Bee Young Entrepreneur Program that visited Campus International several weeks ago. He worked very hard to come up with an idea, write and rehearse an elevator pitch, and then directing + starring in his video [in front of his locker at the gorgeous new school] editing it to under 45 seconds. He even designed a logo, and created a prototype of his “Book Buddy” straps for organizing school books + supplies.

775 entries were submitted from all over the Northeast Ohio region, and he is one of 40 finalists!!

There are 20 in his grade category [5th-8th] and 20 in the lower grades category [K-4th] which will be further reduced to 5 winners from each category. There is a popular vote winner [one from each age group] but Nathaniel is hoping to be one of the judge selections [only 4 from each grade category].

Click on the link below to see Nathaniel's elevator pitch and how he's representing our school!

Keep your fingers crossed for the final results!!
Popular voting ends on Sunday, November 19th,
and all winners are announced on Tuesday the 21st.

Students who care about the environment and conduct their own investigations.

This week, students collected and counted styrofoam trays in the cafe to see how much waste we make in a day with trays.

628 trays were used for breakfast and lunch along with 27+ garbage bags in one day!

Bosco bags to hold bread sticks is a big waste too!

Did you know, it's cool to respect the environment!
We are thankful for students who take time to do this in all areas of our school!

Students who live the Learner Profile outside of school

While on the way to school, Ahmad and Ahniya noticed an abandoned dog in the middle of the road. They asked their parents if they could rescue the dog. Their parents agreed to take the dog to the animal clinic and to post signs, hoping someone would claim the lost dog. So far, no one has responded to their posters...but they are enjoying giving their rescued pup lots of love!
What a great reason to be late to school!

We are thankful for community workers who take time out of their day to visit with us!

Councilman, Basheer Jones paid us a surprise visit and recited one of his poems during MYP lunch! He encouraged us to be proud of who we are!

Welcome to my Campus International School blog.  Campus International is an International Baccalaureate School on the campus of Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.

As Instructional Leader at CIS, I am able to enjoy the learning  taking place in all classrooms K-8. This blog will give you a glimpse into our wonderful world of learning through inquiry, and share some strategies you can use with your child/students.
