Since we are looping and will stay together for 3rd grade, I was thinking of a fun activity to open the school year. Part of the 3rd grade curriculum is learning about our city and how it has changed over time. With all that is happening in Cleveland right now, I think we have great lessons in the making.
I would like for each of you to choose a landmark (any part of the city...building, park, bridge, district, etc.) and teach us about it.

- Where is it found in the city? (connection)
- What is the importance of it? (function)
- How has it changed over time. (change/causation)
- What are your thoughts/opinion of it? (perspective/reflection)
- 1 box of thin-tipped colored markers
- 1 box of thick-tipped colored markers
- 1 box colored pencils
- 24 #2 sharpened pencils with erasers
- 1 box of crayons
- 8 glue sticks
- 3 2-pocket folders (opposite colors)
- 2 spiral notebooks (wide ruled any color or style)
- 2 composition notebooks (wide rule any color)
- 2 pink large erasers
- 1 set each multiplication and division flash cards (for home use)
- 1 pencil pouch for binder/notes
- 1 1 ½ inch binder (with clear pocket on front any color)
- 1 large box tissue
- 1 roll of paper towels
- 2 containers of Clorox Wipes
- 1 bottle of soap
- 1 pack of 4 black dry erase markers
- Boys sandwich bags
- Girls gallon sized freezer bags
- Post-its
- Sharpie markers
- Classroom snacks (healthy)
